Orange County Food Bank

 

9,500 cans of food carefully selected for color & shape ... & placed by hand to form a “Designer’s Fashion Purse” ... a sculptural presentation in partnership with the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising.

Each food can individually balanced to support the whole in the same way a community comes together to support a great cause.  The 8 foot tall purse was open to public viewing at the South Coast Plaza, Costa Mesa, CA. for 3 weeks in September, then disassembled & the food distributed through the Orange County Food Bank to those less fortunate.

At the annual Gala, the sculpture received 2 awards for “Best Meal” & “Most Popular”.  It’s graceful symmetry, bold use color & striking form were also award winning factors.  Later it recieved an International Award.
